Craig Mack

Riding the recent sucess of his collaboration with the ueen of hip-hop soul Mary J. Blige, on "You Don't Have To Worry," Craig Mack has set the stage for his Bad Boy debut with his upcoming album, Project: Funk Da World

The first single, "Flava In Ya Ear," offers a taste of Craig Mack's heavy-lidded, lackadaisical delivery that flows over mesmerizing grooves. And although Mack's religious beliefs are not overtly apparent on the record, a mood of jubilation comes across as he sounds like he was smiling in the studio when he was recording. After first listen, "Flava" has the instant recognizability of a hit, Mack's voice at the same time distinctive but somehow familiar.

Listening to the album it's hard to believe its'd Craig Macl's debut, Instead it sounds like the return of an old favorite. Project: Funk Da World is destined to be a hip-hop classic.

The Notorious B.I.G.

Twenty-year-old Brooklyn born and bred, The Notorious B.I.G., also known as Biggie Smalls, has rapped on Mary J. Blige's remixes of "Real Love" and " What's The 411," and also had his own single, "Party and Bullshit," from the Who's The Man soundtrack.

Ready To Die, produced mostly by Easy Mo Bee with additional cuts by The Bluez Brothers, Poke for TrakMasterz and Lord Finesse, is a heavily R&B flavored, cut and dry mixture of "gangsta" subject matter and East Coast rhyme skills.

B.I.G.'s lyrical style could also be described as listener-friendly, because every single word is decipherable and the details weave together to paint an entire picture for you. At the of a B.I.G. rhyme, you can visualize what happened just as clearly as if you were watching a movie.

Never mind the title, The Notorious B.I.G. is not "ready to die."
This is only the beginning.
